Established under the <strong>National Environment Act<\/strong>, NEMA&#8217;s primary mandate is to ensure <strong>sustainable environmental management and protection<\/strong> across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NEMA operates as a <strong>semi-autonomous body under the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE)<\/strong>.
