National Water and Sewerage Corporation(NWSC)

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is a public utility company in Uganda responsible for providing safe, reliable, and sustainable water supply and sewerage services in urban centers across the country. Established under the NWSC Act (Cap 317), the corporation plays a key role in promoting public health, environmental protection, and socio-economic development through improved access to clean water and sanitation.

NWSC operates as a government-owned corporation under the oversight of the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE). While it has operational autonomy, its strategic direction and regulatory compliance align with national policies and frameworks developed by MWE. This partnership ensures that NWSC’s service delivery supports Uganda’s broader goals in water resource management, environmental sustainability, and universal access to clean water and sanitation.
