Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department Convenes Annual District Water Officers’ Meeting
The Ministry of Water and Environment’s Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department successfully held its 2-day Annual District Water Officers’ Meeting at Mbale Resort in Mbale district on June 11th-12th, 2024.
The meeting, officially opened by Permanent Secretary Dr. Alfred Okot Okidi, brought together 135 District Water Officials and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation officials. Key objectives included:
– Assessing district performance in water service delivery
– Sharing experiences and best practices
– Discussing challenges and solutions in the water sector
– Fostering collaboration and driving progress in water resource management
This gathering played a crucial role in ensuring effective implementation of water programs and improving access to clean water and sanitation in rural areas. Outcomes from the meeting help inform future programming and policy decisions, contributing to the Ministry’s goal of providing sustainable water and sanitation services to all Ugandans.
