Integrated Urban Water & Sanitation Network Upgrade

Integrated Urban Water & Sanitation Network Upgrade

Project Description:

This large-scale civil and water works project focuses on completely overhauling the aging water distribution and wastewater collection systems in a major metropolitan area. The primary goal is to increase the water service reliability from intermittent to continuous supply, reduce Non-Revenue Water (NRW) losses, and expand sanitation coverage.

Key civil works involve the construction of a new, state-of-the-art Water Treatment Plant (WTP), laying hundreds of kilometers of new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and ductile iron pipelines, and building reinforced concrete storage reservoirs to manage peak demand and supply pressure via gravity feed. The sanitation component includes expanding the existing sewer network and upgrading the primary Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) to meet modern environmental discharge standards, thus mitigating pollution in receiving bodies of water.
